Stage 1. Le Monasteir du Gazeille 16.7km

So we have decided that our nickname is Mixed Spice since sometimes it’s mean spice, clumsy spice, funny spice, sick spice, jet lag spice, nature spice, but so far not posh spice, but we’re working on becoming sporty spice.

It was a bit of a restless night with jet lag, allergies, cramping legs, coughing and fever, yes one of us has come down with a cold and two of us have allergies and one of us pulled her back sitting up in bed, hmmmm.

And so four of us set off on foot and one by taxi in another glorious day in Massif Central.

The first stop was a boulangerie to buy some bread for lunch then a little grocery store for goat cheese tomaties and fruit.

The beginning was a gentle downward stroll. The official first stage 1 of the walk.

The walk today was a couple of  really tough downward parts, like walking through s dry stream. We walked about 20 Km again today.

Lunch spot for a picnic lunch by the river loire  and dipped our feet into the icy water, felt very good.

This castle was in our sight for a large part of the day.
